Benevolence

As an integral part of the ministry of our church, the Benevolence Fund provides financial assistance to individuals or families who are experiencing unforeseen or extraordinary financial or material needs (1 Tim 5:8; see also Matthew 25:31-46).

But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? (1 John 3:17)
How We Can Help
  1. We can provide the following items, in limited quantities, free of charge:
    1. Food (essential nutritional groceries/staples)
    2. Clothing (core necessities: not necessarily fashionable, new or name-brand)
    3. Children’s items (cribs, diapers, etc.)
  2. We can provide financial assistance in the form of direct payment for qualifying emergency expenses, such as:
    1. Utilities (electricity, gas, water)
    2. Food (groceries)
    3. Lodging (rent, mortgage, hotel room)
    4. Transportation (bus, taxi or gasoline)
  3. We can and will provide spiritual and/or financial counseling as needed.
  4. Note that many/most of these items require a bit of time to organize, so you cannot expect immediate (or even same-day) assistance.
  5. Note also that there are limits and conditions on all forms of assistance provided. We will answer any questions you may have about this.
